Running with Strippers 2024 is happening during a time in the year when fasting, prayer and reflection anchor so many of us. This year's edition will flow with the utterances of art but also observe the cadence of the day. We will offer all we can. A sense of togetherness, unexpected art and happenings into the night, a space to belong and be as you are. Come and join us at the table. In respect of this season, instead of alcohol we will be serving chai and plant-based bites as we encounter the night.

Existence as we know it is an immersive tapestry, an intricate interplay between the spiritual, virtual and actual. Effegies I by thesupersystem serves as a visual dialogue between these realms inviting us to contemplate the interconnections between the ethereal and the tangible.

SLEEP MODES by Cherry Chan A new remix of an eight-year-old music track ‘refuge for millions’ plays at the convergence of soft sculptures, concealed sensors and industrial baskets. When this tranquil environment is disrupted by a disquieting aural intrusion, SLEEP MODES questions what we bear within our individual comfort zones. In this installation, Cherry features Syndicate label mates deførmed in the installation activation and Intriguant on the remix.

Installation activation at 8:15pm & 9:15pm.

Three Movements and a Shadow by Yang Jie is a series of mechanical sketches exploring the material traces of our existence. Kinetic movement brings about a dance between light and shadow rebirthing everyday objects and reminding us of the cyclic nature of time, and the rituals, routines and artifacts we use to mark the passing moments.

With symphony no.1 by Lynette Quek interrelated toys, objects and motors become a panoply of materials interacting with each other to symphonic effect. Observing irregular moments of synchronicity and interspersed moments of tension and release, the artwork evokes spaces of breathing, rest and regeneration.

prosthesis by Chok Si Xuan is a kinetic installation populating the site with scavenged body massagers mechanisms. The mass-produced body-massager becomes a machine emblematic of our desires, mimicking a specific set of repetitive movements while attempting to remove actual bodily contact. Connected by a network of skins, gesticulating with its limbs, prosthesis thinks of machines and the cybernetic system as shadow extensions of our bodies while questioning how contemporary society delegates tasks, designs labour, and develops transactional kinships whilst our bodies continue to desire kinship and intimacy.

Pilgrims by CULT is a movement performance. The performers resist ennui by a simple dedication to motion. Their continual action urging an awakening by charging the molecules within and around them, evoking notions of journey, solitude & togetherness and uncertain destinations.
